Scouting Report: Sergio De Larrea (2023 U-19 World Cup)
The Spain guard is eligible for the 2025 NBA Draft and creating buzz after strong performances in the Eurocup with Valencia.
The following are personal and scouting notes compiled on Spain and Valencia guard Sergio De Larrea following the 2023 U-19 World Cup.
De Larrea, who is generating some buzz recently with his performances in the Eurocup, is eligible for the 2025 NBA Draft. If he declares, FLOOR and CEILING will have an updated scouting report on the 18-year-old guard.
Overview
De Larrea was Spain’s youngest player at the 2023 U-19 World Cup at 17 years old. He has the best positional size of any Spanish guard prospect, with long arms and strong two-way playmaking instincts. He is also very well-regarded off the court.
In this tournament, De Larrea added value as a ballhandler, defensive event creator, and three-point shooter. Longer term, I also like him as a big guard who can make decisions in pick-and-roll situations. But De Larrea needs to keep improving his body and physicality, and efficiency while demonstrating more consistent production at a high level as a pro.
Evaluation
Averaged 6.1 points, 2.1 rebounds, 2.9 assists, 2 turnovers, and 1.7 steals.
